Mulches
The Mulch More™ range of films from Vegtech offers advanced, multi-layer technology. Films are available with an embossed or smooth finish, in a variety of thicknesses and widths to suit any requirement.
The use of plastic mulches in conjunction with the use of drip irrigation has many benefits.
- Insulation
Mulch More™ films insulate plants from contact with moist soil, dramatically reducing fruit rot. (A drier micro-climate reduces plant sensitivity to diseases such as Downy mildew and Botrytis.)
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Reflectant MulchMore™ products (e.g. Silver or Yellow) reduce the incidence of insects and insect-vectored viral diseases.
- Water Conservation
Mulch More™ films prevent water loss from evaporation at the soil surface and maintain humidity in the root zone.
- Weed control
Opaque Mulch More™ films prevent weed germination and growth, while Clear Polydak burns off weeds with solarisation.
- Temperature Control
Selected Mulch More™ products adjust light and heat conditions to specific requirements and provide optimal root zone temperature.
- Environmental Protection
Mulch More™ Ozgard barrier films for effective soil fumigation contain Methyl Bromide which helps reduce the required dosage by as much as 50%. (Proven in international field trials.)
